Beautifully made by renowned British silversmith company Charles Horner, this vintage hinged bangle is crafted in sterling silver and richly engraved with sweeping foliate motifs. The broad profile gives the intricate decoration plenty of presence, while the softly aged patina brings wonderful depth to every detail.
Hallmarked for Birmingham 1963/64, it closes securely with a hinged fitting and safety chain, weighing a substantial 50 grams, a collectable piece of British jewellery history that remains wonderfully wearable today.

About the Maker:
Charles Horner (1837 – 1896) was from Yorkshire, he was a prominent jeweller in the late 19th century. Born to a local weaver in Ovenden, his business was founded in 1860’s Halifax. Although the company was known for producing a wide range of jewellery and silver objects, they were particularly recognised for their Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau enameled pendants. Although Horner passed before the turn of the century, his company continued with the help of his sons, it survived both world wars, and continued producing jewellery until the 1980’s.
