An intricate little world, captured in gold and made to be turned and discovered.
This double-sided Carnelian antique Victorian spinning fob locket is richly detailed from every angle, with an ornate branch-etched top that wraps beautifully around the form. The central panels rotate smoothly, opening with a central hinge to reveal two compartments complete with their original glass panes, ready to hold treasured photographs or keepsakes. The surrounding etched details are simply stunning, with repousse floral motifs in rose gold with a hint of green gold, a favourite of the Victorian era.
Handcrafted in 15ct yellow gold c1880, this rare survivor carries the beautiful Victorian love of hidden compartments, symbolism and folate detail, with fine engraving and thoughtful construction throughout.
