ANTIQUE VICTORIAN CITRINE INTAGLIO SEAL PENDANT ON 14ct GOLD

This stunning Victorian Era Intaglio is beautifully carved on a large Citrine, depicting an ornate out stretched arm with a gloved hand holding a sword, inscribed around this is Latin prose: ‘PER TELA PER HOSTES’ which loosely translates to ‘Strength through facing our enemies’ or ‘Strength in facing our demons’ with initials decoratively inscribed for ‘SB’.
Beautifully hand carved and mounted in a gorgeous surround, handcrafted on 14ct yellow gold, it is impossible to tell when this seal was encased to become a pendant, what I can tell is that it is wonderfully done!

Victorian seals are so rare to find, this one is particularly fabulous, this is wearable history at its finest! The lush rosy hued gold work so well with this beautifully carved Intaglio.

Marks: None, professionally tested as 14ct

Condition: In excellent Antique condition, some slight flea bites to the Citrine, visible only under magnification, mentioning for accuracy, for the age of the Intaglio, it is in amazing condition.
