A spectacular piece of rare Victorian celestial jewellery, this antique locket dates to c1880 and features a radiant seed Pearl starburst across the raised softly domed face. Crafted in rich 9ct yellow gold, the oval border is alive with intricate Etruscan Revival–style detailing, from fine ropework to raised granulation.
The hinged bale is also set with graduated seed Pearls, while the reverse opens to reveal a glazed compartment for keeping a treasured photograph or memento close.
