Victorian jewellery is steeped in symbolism and this wonderful, rare intaglio is a perfect example of its kind, carved with a crest shield with a lion to the centre and an outstretched armour plated arm holding two spears, the detail is mind-blowing on this one! The symbolic meaning of the lion and the arm rising is one of strength, resilience and overcoming all that is thrown at us!
Wrapped in an ornate top that features gorgeous open swirl work and suspended from a large bale, the inside of the bale is steel lined to provide longevity.
Handcrafted c1880 on 15ct yellow gold.

The secret symbolism of this piece is just wonderful, the carved work is deep and crisp, and so very detailed, a nice large Antique fob seal with presence and intrigue!
