Bold, beautifully made and unmistakably Australian, this antique ring was handcrafted by respected Adelaide jeweller Macrow & Son c1880. A richly coloured 2.40ct oval-cut Amethyst is held proudly in an elegant claw setting, while the substantial 15ct yellow gold mount features beautifully sculpted shoulders that give the ring real presence without overwhelming the stone. It’s a wonderful example of early Australian craftsmanship that’s becoming increasingly difficult to find.
Pieces carrying the Macrow & Son name are sought after for their quality and heritage, making this ring as collectable as it is wearable. The deep violet Amethyst paired with the warm glow of 15ct gold creates a timeless combination that feels every bit as special today as it did over a century ago.
