This whimsical piece from the Art Deco Era c1920 features green, yellow and red coloured paste stones cabochons ornately claw set to a four-sided traffic light motif, complete with a little roof with thatched detail! Suspended from an oval bale, beautifully handcrafted c1920 on 18ct Yellow Gold.
A real talking point this rare and interesting pendant is a delight to wear, and is a very pleasing size and weight. (25mm long, 5 grams)
In 1920 William Potts, a Detroit Policeman invented the first 3-way coloured light system traffic lights, introducing yellow to indicate the light would soon be changing.
