A beautifully intricate piece that feels like it’s been quietly collecting stories for over a century.
This wide Sterling Silver articulated bracelet is a masterclass in antique British craftsmanship, composed of finely etched panels that move fluidly with the wrist. Each link is richly decorated with ornate, hand-engraved detail, no two glints of light falling the same way, whilst the beaded edges add a soft, almost lace-like texture to the silhouette. The hidden clasp integrates seamlessly into the design, preserving the continuous rhythm of the piece, with a safety chain for added security.
Measuring 17.5cm in length & 2.5cm wide, it wears with a satisfying weight (37 grams) and presence without feeling heavy.
Hallmarked with a fascinating set of English Diamond registration marks. The centre mark of ‘Rd’ is the abbreviation for ‘Registered Design’. This bracelet shows ‘I’ for the metal class (Sterling Silver), ‘J’ for the year 1880, ‘R’ for August, and 27 for the date (August 27th 1880). ‘17’ etched to tongue likely being the item number of the maker.
