This striking, earthy ring centres an oval bezel set solid Boulder Opal with great play of colour including blue/green and reds, with split shoulders merging to a solid half-round band.
Beautifully handcrafted c1910, with a 9ct stamp typical to the Australian makers of the era.

Bold and beautiful, this Opal is mesmerising to look into, so much colour and life, simply stunning on, these striking stones are becoming very rare in the market.
Boulder opal is only found in Queensland in the areas around Winton, Quilpie and Yowah. The opal is usually found in fractures and spaces in otherwise impermeable sandstone or ironstone. Generally, the opal is found within boulders which need to be broken open. These are found in clay layers just above the ironstone.
