EARLY VICTORIAN ‘FORGET ME NOT’ MOURNING RING WITH TURQUOISE AND GARNET
A beautiful example of an Early Victorian ‘Forget me Not’ Mourning ring.
This ring has a central, slightly raised garnet, and is surrounded by 7 little cabochon turquoise stones, to form a daisy, a very typical feature of the Early Victorian Era.
There is a ornately etched floral motif ‘collar’ to the shoulders of the ring, and the band is lightly raised to each side, and etched all the way around. Set in 9ct Yellow Gold.
The internal of the ring features an inscription which reads: Jan 15 1858
This ring is in very good condition, with some wear to the band, which is typical for the age, and in no way distracts from the beauty and charm of this Original Victorian Ring.
